VINTAGE – FRENCH PROVINCIAL STYLE TABLE AND A SET OF 6 CHAIRS – SUITE
A French provincial style three plank top table, with an additional extension leaf supported on two tapering oak bearers. These two 9in and one 11in planks were sawn from a massive Victorian beam to form this really good scrubbed top. The base with chamfered tapering legs and pegged mortice and tenon joints have been painted with “Fired Earth” eggshell paint then distressed. The top can be polished or sealed if required. The set of 6 French provincial chairs are rush-seated solid beech with a shaped curved crest rail above the lower rails inserted into the curving stile, the whole being supported by a traditional base stretcher frame with swept front legs. French polished by me, Paul W. Slemmonds: SEE POLISHING AT THE END OF IMAGES OR CLICK ON TO RESTORATION.
