A fine English elm top table circa 1920’s with an adapted painted base. The wonderful, well worn, richly coloured figured burr elm wide planks, 18 in. and 12¼ are cleated at the ends with English oak. It is supported by four tapering legs and a frieze with a rebate gouge decoration running around lower edge, which we have painted with “Farrow & Ball’s” French Grey, covering many coats of paint underneath. Evidence of old woodworm, treated.
