A unique rare Victorian c.1896 brass banded oak wine/beer barrel decanter cabinet. Concealing a quartetto of hand made cut crystal decanters, a pair of Webb crystal glasses and a pair of wine glasses on an oak fitted sliding tray. The fall front, with brass top opens by the way of a secret pull point, to reveal a panelled door fitted with a theft proof Bramah lock & key (first person to open a Joseph Bramah lock was at the Great Exhibition of 1851 and took 51 hours, spread over 16 days). Underneath the door is a cigar drawer, having a single brass handle bearing the Victorian date registration stamp R264404 of 1895/1896. The supporting straps, hinge and handle are silvered. The barrel rests on a shaped trestle base having a stretcher pegged at either end. A rare and unique piece .
