Nest of Tables

The antique nest of tables have proved to be popular over the past 200 years. Antique nest of tables are graduated in size, usually rectangular in shape with turned or square legs and stacked inside of one another, the largest table being the top one.
Thomas Sheraton designed the antique nest of tables (nesting tables) during the 18th century, he created the quartetto of nesting tables, today these four tables are still the most desirable. Thomas Sheraton once describing in his “Cabinet Makers Dictionary” as a kind of small work table, made to draw out of each other, and may be used separately and again inclose within each other when not wanted”.
We see a century later the antique nest of tables enjoying the Edwardian, Sheraton revival period, having sets of two three and of course the quartetto of tables.
