Mirrors

Early antique mirrors were blown hence the glass tended to be thinner at one end, which was always set at the top of the frame. Old antique mirrors usually have a darker reflective quality and in the main the backing has broken down in places, giving a non-reflective area. One should never ever think about replacing the glass.
Mirror plate could not be made in large pieces until the late 18th century, Queen Anne and early Georgian antique mirrors were often made in 2 or 3 pieces.
